NEW: Engine Check Line Process

To cut down on teams lining up early for engine check, the Baja SAE team has decided to implement a new line policy for 2019. Teams must now be paddocked AND checked in at the registration desk prior to lining up at the Briggs & Stratton tent for engine check. Proof of completed on-site registration will be required. You and/or your car will NOT be permitted to enter the line unless you have your registration proof with you. A proof of registration sticker and wristbands will be handed out at the registration desk as part of the registration process. Remember, teams are not permitted to touch the vehicle at all without a wristband on.

SAE staff WILL be policing the line. There will be consequences to not following this new process. If your team repeatedly fails to follow the new rules/listen, a timeslot will be scheduled for you late in the afternoon to visit Briggs & Stratton. Please note that Briggs & Stratton will NOT service your vehicle without a proof of registration sticker on your firewall.

PLEASE NOTE: This does not change any other process of Briggs & Stratton’s Engine Check. Tech #’s 1-25 will STILL be distributed at engine check.

  • Step 1 – Paddock

  • Step 2 – Visit the Registration Desk: Here you will submit your printed (and signed) fast track roster, receive your team wristbands, lunch tickets, giveaway items, and Briggs & Stratton proof of registration sticker to take with you to engine check.

  • Step 3 – Immediately put on your wristbands and then get in line at Briggs & Stratton Engine Check with your proof of registration sticker. The sticker is to be placed on your vehicle's firewall.
