Teams should expect to order engines starting Friday, December 1st, 2023. Student teams will order engines under their team registration page on SAE.org as a direct link will be provided to the Gardner website for the Baja SAE Competition Spec labeled engine and Exhaust kit required for use in the 2024 Baja SAE competition season.

As teams need to plan for this cost, SAE can share that the engine and exhaust kit will be offered to student teams $476.91. Gardner will ship by truck anywhere in the continental USA at a flat rate of $225 (1 to 4 engines) and in Canada flat rate of $425 (1 to 4 engines).

Due to the weight of the engines, Gardner needs to ship engines using LTL freight. Gardner recommends to student teams that addresses provided for engine orders should be to a location with a loading dock to avoid extra cost of lift gate needed.

Also, as a reminder, previously announced engines will not be available for shipping outside of the lower 48 United States and Canada. If you are a team from Mexico or international, you will need to make other arrangements for receipt of your engine. You can ship to someone you know that resides in United States or Canada. You may also ship to SAE International to accept on your behalf. Teams who ship to SAE will need to notify SAE International staff by emailing [email protected] with the following information:
